Customs have always been cultivated in Erl. Festivities with traditional music and costumes take place regularly. Old dances are kept alive by the young

	Mountain mass on the "Kranzhorn" celebrated in the open air every year on the 2nd Sunday in September, the annual Erl Festival commencing on the Calvary on the stroke of midnight, and the Passion plays in the "Passionsspielhaus" - customs accessible to all.
Yet also craftsmanship is a custom in Erl upon which great care and attention has been lavished since the Middle Ages. Thus Erl has always been a stronghold of skill in wrought iron work. Everywhere in the village you can admire handmade lanterns with unique motifs that have been donated to the community by sponsors.
